Hello everybody,
We’re almost at the end of June and it’s summer holiday time! Of course it’s been very different this year and it almost feels like we should be going back to school! I hope you all got to bring back your books last Tuesday, if any of you find any other books from the school (text books, novel s, library books, readers etc.) please let me know and we can collect them from you at some stage. It’s great when we get books back as it helps to keep our libraries well stocked.
A special thank you to you all for the great work throughout the year but especially in the last few weeks. As I said in my last correspondence some of you were very artistic and creative during this time, others were very active, outside a lot. Keep all this going during the summer holidays. Keep an eye on the website and we might put up bits and pieces, but I promise it’ll only be interesting stuff! Eg. If we hear about any interesting projects/art competitions/science we’ll let you know, then it’s up to you to decide if you want to try it out.
It was great to have the support of the Parents’ Association again this year with the Book Scheme. We appreciate their time especially during these challenging times. Some of you were enquiring about Seo Leat 5 – yes this is the one we will use this year again so don’t throw your 5th class Seo leat away! The Book lists are correct. You will be able to get the other text books you need in August from the PA on a particular evening before we return to school on August 27th.
It will be assumed that all who took part in the book scheme last year will take part again this year. If you do not wish to take part please e mail the school to inform us of same, otherwise we will assume that you are taking part.
Reminder: All parents buy their child’s workbooks and stationery this year. The PA provides textbooks only. Each textbook cost €5. This is a huge saving compared to buying the text books.
Once again thank you to all in our school community. The Board of Management, staff, Parents’ Association, parents, pupils and friends of Nicker NS. Everybody has played their part and we are grateful for all the support we have provided each other this last term.
Stay safe and well during the holidays. See you on August 27th!
